Nana's Little Elfs

These little guys are my pride and joy, although hats, and picture posing are not high on their list.

Need to vent

I have been following the blog of a beautiful young woman that Cassy used to go to school with. Additionally, our family had been in their ward for a couple of years. The young woman, Susan, age 26, lost her battle with colon cancer last night (Dec 5th). Hers was the most courageous fight I have seen in some time. She was a lot like Cassy, health nut, exercised, and she had one of those infectious personalities that are hard to miss.
My heart breaks for this family. It also opens wounds of my own. Cancer is such a cruel opponent. It has taken a good many friends and loved ones from this earth, way too soon. I hope that we all pray hard, and often, for medical science to catch up with this disease. I so hope that cures are discovered in my life time. I want to witness its defeat.
As for Susan, a young newly wed who had so much to offer this world, Cliche or not, she is in a better place. Knowing that , although helpful, doesn't do a lot for how senseless it seems. It doesn't take the pain away from her young husband and family. She went from diagnosis, to dying in only a few short months.
Obviously she wouldn't have been expected to be getting screened for, what is usually a much older persons disease, but to my loved ones, I beg, do not skip check ups and screenings that you should be getting. Please help me to not let Cancer take anyone unnecessarily. Let's do all in our power to stop it. Sadly, we cannot prevent, or detect it all, but take care of the ones we can.
Well, I will let it go, for now. I don't even know if this will be read, but I just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks to anyone who suffers thru it. God bless!!

Anybody out There?

It seems to be a slow time in blogville. I haven't seen much new from anyone in a while, so thought I'd check in on mine. I really don't have much to report. Suns are doing okay so far. Did everyone see that fight the other night? Shaqtus became the enforcer of the shuv. It was hysterical the way he went about pushing guys over. Go big guy! Bring on Robert Horry now.

It's a Boy!!!!!

Liz had her ultra sound today, and she is having another beautiful baby boy! They did the 4D and the pix are so clear. He is absolutely perfect in every way. Technology is amazing. Hopefully Liz will post some of the pix on her blog. We are thrilled to add to the pack. Buying ruffles and pink things will just have to wait, we're workin on a baseball team!

Rens Quirks!

Okay, I have put this off long enough. So here it goes.
1. When hanging laundry, everything must be hung the same direction. Probably why I am the only one to put clothes on hangers.
2. When replacing toilet paper roll, it must be over. Under is just WRONG, and I often have to change it.
3. Sticky is the enemy. I hate to touch, or step on anything sticky.
4. Probably better known as co-dependency, I am obsessed with being courteous to others. I stress over not being in others way when I shop, and I work hard at following the rules of the road, so as not to irritate others as much as they do me.
5. I hate having shoes on in the house. They come off the minute I'm in the door.
6. Since laundry has occupied a large portion of my adult life, I am very quirky about how it is done. Separating properly is paramount. Most likely goes along with my need for things to match, and coordinate. Simple concept, one would think.
So, they you have it. There are probably many other things, but we'll discover them at another time.
I tag LIZ, SHELLI, BRANDY, STACY, and just for fun, how about T.J. and DEB,(if she ever starts her own blog)

Hey!

Well, it has been awhile. I guess I lost the, "new blog novelty" and have gotten lazy. I have been doing a lot of reading, which is not typical of me, and the family brought back a couple of puzzles from Hawaii, that are the puzzles from hell! I love a good puzzle as much as the next, but these are not even fun. I should have put it back in the box a long time ago, but we have invested too much time now to give up. I will post a pic when it is done.
Our August b-days continued with T.J.'s 25th. He is so excited to be old enough to rent a car now. We will move on now to Craigs 9/30 b-day. Then, of course, the babies both in October. It is hard to believe on fast time is moving. We'll soon have grandbaby #4. (April) So far, my "baby each year" is holding. I love it.
Well, I'll sign off for now! Love to all. Ren
